Mommy's 40

What a difference 1 year can make.
As of March 21, 2011 ------ I'm 40.
It is going to be an amazing decade. These boys are going to keep me young.
Collin and I are very blessed to have found each other -
add in these 2 miracles and "my cup runneth over".

March 2010

11 MONTHS OLD

WARNING:

This blog entry has not been proofed....just trying to fill in notes when boys are taking nap.

The Dynamic Duo

Life has changed around our house. These 2 little men are on the move. They are crawling, standing, testing their sea legs every minute they have the chance too. Noah and Parker love this phase of life. The smiles are bigger and the laughs are louder. (the cries are too) The falls are not fun - we have had big bumps and bruises. Noah is still more daring to try the new stuff. He crawls out of his bouncy chair and on to the sofa. Parker likes to try new stuff but looks back to us first to see if its okay. We are using the word DON'T alot - in hopes that it will keep them safe.

Talking

Oh boy oh boy do they talk...all day long. I wonder who they learned that from? Parker talks more but Noah has his moments. Words are Mocha (doggie), banana, zebra (as of today), Grandpa, Ada (nanny), mum and dada, airplane, more, up, and alot of baby babble words.

Playing

They love to play with toys but if they notice cords/plugs - they are all over it until we ruin the fun. Noah still loves his books. He will sit and pull them off the shelf and onto the floor then read (flip through) them. He likes picture and touch and feel books the most. Parker is still in extreme mouthing mode. Coolest thing is they are starting to really play together. It is the cutest thing ever. Today Noah was putting a play banana in Parker's mouth. Parker was like "okay this is cool". The big no-no is pulling each others hair. They think its great but the one who's hair is in the others fist is screaming and usually in tears.

Highlights

We are finally, finally both sleeping through the night. It took forever but we made it. The normal night is bed at 7:30pm and up around 6:40am. Thrilled. People talked of this magical sleep but we just never understood until about 2 weeks ago. Yes it took our boys (mainly Parker) almost 11 months to learn how to sleep solid though the night. We have also turned OFF the monitor at night and just listen for them to wake in the morning. It's wonderful. They still nap really well during the day. 2 naps. 9:30am and 1:30pm. 60 to 120 minutes each nap.

They both have 6 teeth and are working on #7. This has allowed them to EAT more and try new food. They started eating chicken this month. Boys enjoy it. Other new foods are brown rice, whole wheat noodles, peaches, organic whole milk yogurt, cheese (a fav), Cheerios, peas and waffles. We really try to give them organic foods if possible. We want to give them the best start possible. Collin is still super chef - he bakes and purees the boys food then freezes it in ice cube trays. It has worked out so well. They eat about 8-12 cubes 2x a day. They get breakfast and snack a 3:30pm too. 4 bottles of formula a day - 24 to 28 oz. We will introduce MILK if Dr.Sackrison gives us the go ahead at their 1 year check up next month.

Birthday

The plan is to have their 1st birthday at the Lakehouse. The theme is zoo animals. We are learning alot about animals these days. I have waited a life time to plan our children's 1st birthday.

The Big Kid Park

Noah and I finally got to go to the BIG KID PARK by Grandmama's and Pa Pair's house.
It was AWESOME. We got to swing and go down the slides.

G & G got to get to be kids again too. Big Smiles and Wagon Rides!

Mommy and GG walked the us almost 2 miles while we slept peacefully in the stroller.
Beautiful day for a stroll in the park.
The Plano Preserve is such a wonderful gift to the city. I am sure we will be going there alot more this spring and summer.
Love,
Parker
