1st LAKEHOUSE Visit

Ahhhh...the lake!

Collin and I decided it was time to share one of our favorite places in the world with the boys.

Friday, May 21 we packed up (oh my goodness the boys have alot of stuff) our bags and headed out to our family lakehouse at Lake Fork in Emory, Texas.
The boys were amazing. They slept for the entire 90 minute drive. Once we arrived they settled in like they had been there a 100 times. In our hearts, we always wondered what it would be like to share the lake with the boys. It was a dream come true...they loved it. So did we - it was a great change of pace from our house. It made the 11pm, 2am and 6am feeding seem a bit easier. ha-ha.

On Saturday, Grandma & Grandpa Hickman arrived to joy the fun.

We decide to take the boys out on to the new boat deck and enjoy the breeze coming of the water. It was just what mommy needed too.
Dad & Collin ended up catching record numbers of Crappie right of the dock as well. Look at all those fish.

"Mommy and Daddy, when are we going back to the lakehouse?" said Parker and Noah.

It's our 1 Month Birthday

Hello Everyone,
The boys are 1 month old today. It's been an amazing month of growth, blessings and love.
Collin and I are learning all the in's and out's to becoming amazing parents. We pray.
We had no idea how much we would love these little guys.
Everyday we discover something new and wonderful about them.

EAT

They have come a very long way from the days after being born. We were feeding them out of a syringe. They are now up to 3oz. out of a Dr. Brown slow flow bottle and doing very well. They LOVE to eat. It shows because they have gained weight. Dr is very pleased at their progress.

SLEEP

We have learned sleep is more valuable then gold. Nothing could have prepared us for the "lack of sleep".
We now have a pretty good plan. "Off duty" & "On duty" rooms. The guest room which is right next to the boys nursery is the "on duty" room. After a feeding, who ever is ON sleeps in that room and handles any baby issues may occur after that feeding. If your lucky - babies sleep and you sleep. The OFF duty room is the retreat. You get 2-4 hours of solid sleep. Its priceless. Its not forever but it works for us now.
Our big bonus is when Grandma Junebug aka "night grammie" offers to stay the night and let's Collin and I sleep through the night. God bless you mom. Those nights make the rest of the week so much easier.
How do they sleep? Great. They have graduated from an hour and a half to almost four hours on a great night. They do love to be rocked and sung too before bedtime. They for the most part both sleep in the pack and play together. Parker likes to move more as he sleeps but Noah doesn't seem to mind at all.

PRAY

We are so thankful for the honor of being their parents. We prayed for so long for them. God is good! We also as individuals have learned so much in just a 30 days. The true meaning of the word patience,
how to communicate on just a a few hours of sleep and all WE all really need is to be LOVED!

Here are some great snap shots from the month:

We enjoy our froggy tummy time!

We love our "nu nu's" aka animal pacifiers.
