Mommy's 40

What a difference 1 year can make.
As of March 21, 2011 ------ I'm 40.
It is going to be an amazing decade. These boys are going to keep me young.
Collin and I are very blessed to have found each other -
add in these 2 miracles and "my cup runneth over".

March 2010

11 MONTHS OLD

WARNING:

This blog entry has not been proofed....just trying to fill in notes when boys are taking nap.

The Dynamic Duo

Life has changed around our house. These 2 little men are on the move. They are crawling, standing, testing their sea legs every minute they have the chance too. Noah and Parker love this phase of life. The smiles are bigger and the laughs are louder. (the cries are too) The falls are not fun - we have had big bumps and bruises. Noah is still more daring to try the new stuff. He crawls out of his bouncy chair and on to the sofa. Parker likes to try new stuff but looks back to us first to see if its okay. We are using the word DON'T alot - in hopes that it will keep them safe.

Talking

Oh boy oh boy do they talk...all day long. I wonder who they learned that from? Parker talks more but Noah has his moments. Words are Mocha (doggie), banana, zebra (as of today), Grandpa, Ada (nanny), mum and dada, airplane, more, up, and alot of baby babble words.

Playing

They love to play with toys but if they notice cords/plugs - they are all over it until we ruin the fun. Noah still loves his books. He will sit and pull them off the shelf and onto the floor then read (flip through) them. He likes picture and touch and feel books the most. Parker is still in extreme mouthing mode. Coolest thing is they are starting to really play together. It is the cutest thing ever. Today Noah was putting a play banana in Parker's mouth. Parker was like "okay this is cool". The big no-no is pulling each others hair. They think its great but the one who's hair is in the others fist is screaming and usually in tears.

Highlights

We are finally, finally both sleeping through the night. It took forever but we made it. The normal night is bed at 7:30pm and up around 6:40am. Thrilled. People talked of this magical sleep but we just never understood until about 2 weeks ago. Yes it took our boys (mainly Parker) almost 11 months to learn how to sleep solid though the night. We have also turned OFF the monitor at night and just listen for them to wake in the morning. It's wonderful. They still nap really well during the day. 2 naps. 9:30am and 1:30pm. 60 to 120 minutes each nap.

They both have 6 teeth and are working on #7. This has allowed them to EAT more and try new food. They started eating chicken this month. Boys enjoy it. Other new foods are brown rice, whole wheat noodles, peaches, organic whole milk yogurt, cheese (a fav), Cheerios, peas and waffles. We really try to give them organic foods if possible. We want to give them the best start possible. Collin is still super chef - he bakes and purees the boys food then freezes it in ice cube trays. It has worked out so well. They eat about 8-12 cubes 2x a day. They get breakfast and snack a 3:30pm too. 4 bottles of formula a day - 24 to 28 oz. We will introduce MILK if Dr.Sackrison gives us the go ahead at their 1 year check up next month.

Birthday

The plan is to have their 1st birthday at the Lakehouse. The theme is zoo animals. We are learning alot about animals these days. I have waited a life time to plan our children's 1st birthday.

The Big Kid Park

Noah and I finally got to go to the BIG KID PARK by Grandmama's and Pa Pair's house.
It was AWESOME. We got to swing and go down the slides.

G & G got to get to be kids again too. Big Smiles and Wagon Rides!

Mommy and GG walked the us almost 2 miles while we slept peacefully in the stroller.
Beautiful day for a stroll in the park.
The Plano Preserve is such a wonderful gift to the city. I am sure we will be going there alot more this spring and summer.
Love,
Parker

Happy 10 Months Noah & Parker

We are first and fore most totally IN LOVE with you two! You are amazing little men. We are so excited for you and all that you are learning. Speaking of learning - wow you 2 are so smart. Here is what you have accomplished in just a month.

Noah our first born:

  • You have been a real trooper with teething - you now have your 2 top teeth and 3 on bottom.
  • You are army crawling, kneeling and pulling up to stand.
  • Its amazing your sense of humor. You are so funny. Noah your laugh lights your our hearts with so much joy. It's one of the best sounds in the world.
  • Noah you like to talk on your terms. You definitely are saying your brother's nickname Par Par, Mum, Ball and 2 big ones "Airplane & Grandpa".
  • Thrill seeker. You love motion. Tossed, twirled, upside down - you name it you want to do it. Favorite game is "peek a boo".
  • Cuddle bug. You are now crawling up onto Daddy and I wanted to hug or to get affection. Keep it up - we love it.

Parker our ball of sunshine:

  • You have a big white front tooth and the other one is pushing its way through. Make a total of 4!
  • You decided in the middle of the Superbowl Party at the Prince's to pull yourself up to stand. It was so cute. You were so proud. All you want to do now is stand.
  • You are the talker these days. You can say about 10 words. You favorites are Airplane, Mom, I am Par Par and Dada. When you are sweet sleepy - you say all your words and fall asleep. Latest one is "Grandpa"! You said it to Grandpa Stoops this weekend.
  • Parker you still have time where you like to play quietly by yourself. If you notice something cool going on around you - you want to be part of it though.
  • STRONG. We joke and say "Strong like Bull". You have great strength.
  • Smile and laugh we can always count on. You are our Sunshine.

You TWO together are beautiful brothers. Its all still new - learning to play together but you are doing it more and more everyday. You wake up talking to each other, always look to see where the other one is or what he is doing, love to pull each other's hair (you scream when your hair is the one getting pulled) and you have just started to mini wrestle with each other. You both laugh alot when doing it. Your Daddy and I want so much for you to be the best of friends. Noah you are sleeping 11 to 12 hours solid at night now and Parker you seem to struggle with sleeping solid 5 out of 7 nights. You go to sleep great at bedtime but early morning (1-5am) if you wake you have a very difficult time soothing yourself back to sleep. We have started to take you in bed with us and like magic you go right back to sleep til 7am. Daddy and I love you but we know this is creating alittle monster too. It is sleep training again this week - sorry buddy. You guys are eating great. Breakfast you get 7 oz bottle and fruit with yogurt. Lunch you get another 7 oz bottle then 8 cubes with whole wheat. Around 3pm you get another 7 oz bottle. Dinner is at 6pm. You get 10 cubes of veggies plus wheat. We just started to introduce "puffs" and a few Cheerios. Fun to watch you learn how to pick things up and eat them. Bedtime you get one more bottle. You go to bed around 7:30-8pm. No fussing - you like bedtime. You 2 are right on track! You amaze us everyday!!! Happy 10 months. WE LOVE YOU! XOXXOXO Love Mommy and Daddy

Parker said "DADA" ! Daddy is a happy man!

Boys are both finally sleeping through the night!!!! AMEN.
